Welcome to XoXoPottery, a place where passion, artistry, and heritage come together in each handcrafted creation. Meet the creative force behind the clay, Alexia Kanias, affectionately known as Lexi, the youngest of three girls born into a vibrant Greek family.

My various XoXoPottery ranges are about creating pieces of functional art that can be used everyday. Alternatively purchased for ornamental use which facilitates a happier and prettier daily home life.
The beauty about Art it that it has the ability to transcend over many different objects.
My particular medium of choice at is working with clay and glazes.

It’s a constant voyage of artistic discovery.

I create multifunctional bespoke art pieces, plates, platters and bowls.
All pieces are one of a kind.

I sculpt and mix my own glazes.
I believe each bag of clay holds endless possibilities – it’s an ongoing adventure.
Doing what inspires me on a daily basis motivates me & drives my brand to greater heights.
I have a love affair with every bag of clay I open, with every piece I sculpt and with every bottle of glaze I mix.

As a child unable to articulate her own name, Lexi playfully dubbed herself “XO,” a name that stuck and endures as a cherished nickname among close friends and family. This whimsical signature evolved into the Xoxo Pottery Design brand, where each piece bears the mark of authenticity.

Lexi’s hands breathe life into each creation, blending practicality with beauty. Working with clay and glazes, she crafts multifunctional pieces, embracing the unpredictability of the medium. Every item is one of a kind, inspired by daily life and Lexi’s global travels. Having walked the El Camino in Spain thrice and hiked the Inca trail in Machu Picchu, her work resonates with the colours and tones of these diverse landscapes.

Lexi’s love for art blossomed early in life, finding solace in painting and colouring. In 2013, she ventured into weekly ceramic classes as a leisure pursuit, a hobby that soon metamorphosed into a full-time calling. The turning point arrived during Lexi’s transformative journey along the El Camino de Santiago. Faced with a crossroads, she decided to bid farewell to her successful real estate career, taking a courageous leap of faith to embrace her true passion for ceramics.

Born into a Greek family, Lexi’s connection to her heritage is evident in her sculptures and pottery ranges. Her studio in Cape Town is the birthplace of each unique piece, designed for both home decor and tableware. Collections like the Mediterranean range draw inspiration from her roots, reflecting the love, beauty, and tranquillity of the Med, while the Sea Scape range, born during the 2020 lockdown, encourages play and mental escape.

A real conversation starter, the oversized bowls of the Miraflores Magic collection draw inspiration from an art and design district in Peru, featuring bold and vibrant colours.
